Welcome Message

I would like to welcome you to The 11th Asia Pacific Industrial Engineering & Management Systems (APIEMS) Conference and the 14th Asia Pacific Regional Meeting of the International Foundation for Production Research to be held on December 7-10, 2010 in Melaka, Malaysia. The Conference is hosted by Universiti Malaya (UM) in collaboration with the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP). These conferences are also held in conjunction with the 3rd AUN/SEED-Net Regional Conference in Manufacturing Engineering (AUN/SEED-Net-RC ManuE 2010).

Melaka is very rich in cultural heritage and bears several places of historical interest. This historical city has been listed as a prominent World Heritage Site of UNESCO since 7th July 2008. If this is your first visit to Melaka, it has a lot to offer you— from scenic sights, cultural experience, delicious cuisine, to warm and friendly people. The generous hospitality will surely enchant you. You will gain new experience, insight and knowledge. As the conference chair, I would like to invite you to participate in this conference.

About Conference

The conference aims to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas on the latest development in the field of industrial engineering and management system among researchers and engineers in universities and industries, and to seek opportunities for collaboration among the participants. The conference is also expected to foster networking, collaboration and joint effort among the conference participants to advance the theory and practice as well as to identify major trends in Industrial Engineering and Management System. The past APIEMS conferences had been very successful in attracting participants from all over the world
